Eugene, singer and actress, expressed her feelings about the dispute between SM Entertainment and TVXQ. In an interview with Sports Korea on the 10th, Eugene said, "I don't know the exact details of this case, but I hope both sides open their hearts and resolve the situation well."
Eugene stepped into the entertainment business in 1997 when she debuted in the girl group S.E.S. with Bada and Shoo. S.E.S. was the first girl group SM Entertainment had ever created and they reaped in great success with their clothes and songs that revolved around a fairy concept. S.E.S. became the foundation for other girl groups to come such as Fin.K.L., Babyvox, Chakra, and more recently, Wondergirls and Girls' Generation.
Eugene said, "It is true that big agencies such as SM have very advanced training systems. So people hoping to become singers carry the hope of debuting in their hearts and sign onto long contracts with such agencies." Eugene also said, "As singers mature, their contracts should change too. But the agencies don't allow that so a lot of complaints start to pile up in a person. I think it's a shame that these agencies are using the rookies' weaknesses."
Eugene also expressed her thoughts regarding her juniors' activities, "These days, their schedules are so packed, they have no time to breath. I hope they change the contracts and the income divisions so that singers can find happiness and fulfillment in their careers."
